New “Track origin” section in the form for adding a recording

The form for adding a recording now starts with a Track origin section – three questions that determine what we will need from you for the recording and how we will handle it in distribution and in our playlists.

When you add a recording to a release in Artists Bez Labelu, you will now see a short set of questions before the recording details themselves. The rest of the form unlocks only once you have answered all of them. It takes a few seconds and saves problems we used to deal with only after release – claims by rights holders, blocks on content platforms or incorrectly credited authors.

What we ask

Is it AI-generated music?

The final audio, or part of it, was generated by a tool such as Suno, Udio, Stable Audio or similar – even if the lyrics and melody are yours.

Did you use a beat from the internet?

A bought or “free” beat, an instrumental or karaoke version from YouTube, or a loop or sample pack that the entire backing track is built from.

Is it a cover?

Your own recording of someone else's song – the music or lyrics were written by someone else. Remixes are handled separately further down the form.

What happens depending on your answers

For AI-generated music, we keep a record of the recording on your account – platforms may label or restrict it, and in our playlists it can only go into the playlist for AI music. For a beat from the internet, a field for the licence in PDF format appears; you can upload it straight away or later when editing the recording, but without it we will not send the release to distribution. For a cover, you enter the authors of the original in the Composer and Lyricist fields, and the backing track must be your own recording. Combining AI and a cover is prohibited – an AI cover of someone else's song cannot be released, and the form will not let you create such a recording at all.

Your answers are a declaration on your honour

Your answers are saved with the recording and with your account. A false answer – for example, claiming you did not use a beat from the internet when Content ID or the rights holder later gets in touch – is a serious breach of the Framework Agreement and the Terms and Conditions. Three such breaches mean the termination of your account.

We cover all the questions, their possible combinations and exactly what follows from each of them in detail in the article Track origin – three questions before you fill in each recording.
