How registration and account approval work

Registration takes three steps and happens entirely online.

You register in Artists, pay a one-off registration fee and your account is activated – automatically if you pay by bank transfer from a Czech bank directly in the app, otherwise once we approve it. Here is the whole process.

How registration works

  1. Register in Artists
Create an account at artists.bezlabelu.cz/register. Fill in your email, password, real first name and surname, artist name, address, account type (private individual, self-employed or company), phone number and bank account number. Before you finish, we’ll show you the two most important details – your artist name and email – once more to check (see below). If you already have a profile on both Spotify and Apple Music, enter their identifiers (how to find them); otherwise, choose that you are a new artist. After submitting, you’ll receive an email with a link to confirm your address. The whole process and an overview of what you’ll need are described on the page bezlabelu.cz/registrace-na-bez-labelu.
  2. Pay the registration fee
The fee is one-off, and the account can’t be activated without it. After you log in, the app offers you two options. The quickest is a bank transfer from a Czech bank directly in the app – you get an account number, a variable symbol and a QR code, we match the payment automatically and the account activates itself, usually within a few minutes. If you want to pay another way (by card, via Google Pay / Apple Pay or from a foreign bank), use the Pay another way button or the page bezlabelu.cz/registracni-poplatek. You can also pay the fee on the website before registering – but then register with the same email address you gave when paying.
  3. Wait for activation
With a transfer from a Czech bank in the app, the account is activated automatically. If you pay on the website, we approve the account manually – usually within 24 hours. We’ll send you a confirmation by email, and then you can start adding music for release.

Summary: Artist name and email

Before you complete your registration, we’ll show you a summary of your artist name and email. Check both carefully – your whole account is built on these two details.

Your artist name is the name of the artist as listeners will see it on Spotify, Apple Music and other platforms on every one of your releases. It is not a username. Write it exactly as it should appear – upper and lower case, spaces, diacritics. It can be your name, a pseudonym, the name of a band or a project, but always just one: You add guests and other artists to each release. Additions such as “official” or “music” don’t belong in the name.

When you fill in your Spotify or Apple Music profile, we immediately check that it has the same name. If we find something suspicious about the name, for example that it is all in capital letters, we’ll also point it out to you later in the First release guide and on your dashboard.

Your email is your login and cannot be changed. Check that it is spelled correctly and that you have access to the inbox – we send everything important there (why your inbox must be working).

You can only change your artist name for free once

The name can only be changed free of charge once, and only before you send your first release for distribution. After that, every change is paid and results in a new artist profile on the platforms. How a change works is described in the article Changing your artist name: When and how to do it.

What the registration fee includes

The fee is one-off and covers the activation of one user account for one artist. Once approved, you can distribute an unlimited amount of music. Of the royalties, Bez Labelu keeps 10%, another 20% stays in the distribution chain and 70% is yours – details are in the article on royalties and in the terms and conditions. There are no flat fees. If another artist invited you, your registration is cheaper (CZK 350 with an email VIP invitation, CZK 400 with a personal link instead of CZK 500) – more in the article Invitations and personal link.

Why approval gets held up – the most common causes

Manual approval after paying on the website is most often held up because the fee was paid from a different email address from the one you registered with in Artists. We then can’t match the payment to your account. It also happens that an unrealistic phone number, address or bank account number has been entered in the profile. For a transfer directly in the app, send the payment with exactly the details given (above all the amount and variable symbol) – otherwise we won’t be able to match it automatically. If approval takes longer than 48 hours from payment, write to us – there’s no need to do so sooner.

The email address must match

When you pay on the website, use the same email address for the payment and for registering in Artists. If you paid from a different one, write to us at info@bezlabelu.cz and give both email addresses – we’ll match them manually.

1 account = 1 artist

Every artist must have their own registration and pay their own fee. You can’t release music under several different artist names from one account – create a new account for another project or band. More about this rule in the article 1 artist = 1 user account.

After approval

We recommend switching on two-factor authentication straight away and going through the First release guide. TikTok and Beatport are switched off by default for new accounts – you can request access to them in Artists in the Requests section.
