New question in Track origin: How the vocals and music were made
Track origin now has a new question for AI-generated music: How were the vocals and the music made? You now mark the vocals and the music separately, so it is clear exactly which part of the recording was created by AI.
When you answer Yes, it is AI-generated music in the recording form, you choose right below it how the vocals and the music were made. An answer is required. This is not about who wrote the lyrics and music (you still enter that under authors), but about the final sound recording.
Vocals
Sung by a person without AI processing, by AI (including voice conversion or voice processing), or no vocals.
Music
Recorded by people without AI, partly by AI (even just processing), or entirely by AI.
Why separately
Platforms increasingly distinguish whether AI created the vocals, the music or both.
If AI has converted your voice into a different one or processed it, choose AI for the vocals – even if the change was minimal. Answer truthfully: Presenting an AI recording as human-made is a serious breach of the Framework Agreement and the Terms and Conditions.
You will find all the options with examples in the article Track origin – 3 questions before filling in each recording.
