Beat licence
Also known as: beat leasebeat licencefree for profit
The terms under which you may use someone else's instrumental (beat) – stream limits, platforms, credits, exclusivity.
“Free for profit” does not mean “no strings attached”. Read the full terms before releasing and keep them – you will need them if asked to prove your rights. Beats from the internet must not go to content platforms.
Not to be confused with
- Non-exclusive licence – A licence under which the licensor may grant the same use to others too. Typical of cheaper beat leases.
- Instrumental – A recording without vocals. As a separate version of a released song it has its own ISRC and “Instrumental” in the title.
