Non-exclusive licence
Also known as: non-exclusive licencenon-exclusive licenselease
A licence under which the licensor may grant the same use to others too. Typical of cheaper beat leases.
Unless the contract says otherwise, a licence is presumed non-exclusive. The same beat may therefore be used by several artists, which leads to Content ID disputes and rejection on content platforms.
Not to be confused with
- Exclusive licence – A licence under which the licensor may not grant the same use to anyone else (and usually may not use it that way themselves).
