How to switch from another distributor to Bez Labelu

If you are planning to move your discography to us from another distributor (e.g. DistroKid, CDBaby, TuneCore, Prodejhudbu, ...), everything needs to be transferred from them to us – exactly as everything is with them now, it must then be with us too. No import is possible; everything has to be done manually.

1. PREPARATION

PREPARE ALL ORIGINAL FILES + METADATA

  • They must be exactly the same files (and details) that were uploaded to your previous distributor.
  • No edits, remixes or other versions – the platforms would detect different content and there would be a problem (or at the very least the recordings would not be credited with their play/download counts or any other metrics).
  • What to prepare:
    • Audio
    • Images
    • All metadata:
      • Album titles + the corresponding EAN/UPC codes.
      • Track titles + the corresponding ISRC codes.
      • Names of the songwriters, etc.
      • Original release dates.
      • Languages, genres, …
    • We recommend taking screenshots of all items in your account with the original distributor, in case you ever need to look anything up.

2. REGISTRATION WITH BEZ LABELU

REGISTER WITH US AND PAY THE REGISTRATION FEE

  • What you will need to register: Registering with Bez Labelu
  • How to do it:
    1. Registration in the client area:
      • Register at artists.bezlabelu.cz/register. Your phone number and bank account number are required at registration.
      • To have your new releases matched to your existing artist profiles on Spotify and Apple Music, indicate during registration that you already have a profile on both Spotify and Apple Music and enter their correct identifiers – the Spotify URI and Apple Music ID. Instructions here:
    2. Paying the registration fee:
      • By transfer from a Czech bank directly in the app – after logging in, you will get the payment details with a QR code, we match the payment automatically and your account is activated on its own, usually within a few minutes.
      • By card online directly in the app – the Pay by card online button. Once paid, the account is usually activated automatically.
      • You can also pay on the website first and register afterwards – but use the same email address for both the payment and the registration.

3. NEW RELEASE WITH US

RE-RELEASE ALL ALBUMS THROUGH BEZ LABELU

  • Exactly as they were previously published with your previous distributor – remember that not only the audio files and images but also all metadata must be identical: Album and track titles, audio files, EAN/UPC and ISRC codes, songwriters, producers, featured artists, etc.
  • You fill in the UPC/EAN and ISRC codes yourself directly in the release and track form. Do not leave these fields empty – an empty field means we will assign you new codes. The codes cannot be changed after the first submission for distribution, so check them carefully before sending (What can still be changed after distribution and what cannot).
  • Saving a release does not send it anywhere yet. You send it to distribution yourself in the release detail: You confirm the declaration before distribution, select the platforms and click Distribute Selected.

4. DELETING THE ORIGINAL RELEASES

DELETE THE ALBUMS WITH YOUR ORIGINAL DISTRIBUTOR

  • As soon as the new releases appear on your artist profiles on the platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, …), you need to have the original versions removed from distribution by your original distributor.
  • Alternatively, you can of course remove the albums from distribution with your original distributor earlier, but in that case they will not be available on the platforms until they are re-released through Bez Labelu.
