Single

Distribution and releasing in Czech Singl

Also known as: single

A release with one to three recordings, typically up to about 10 minutes long.

A single is the basic release unit – most often one recording, possibly with a remix or an instrumental version. The title of a single must match the title of its main recording.

The boundaries between single, EP and album are industry conventions, not law, and platforms differ slightly. In Artists Bez Labelu the release type is set automatically from the number of recordings (1–3 single, 4–6 EP, 7 or more album).

Not to be confused with

  • EP – A shorter release, typically with 4 to 6 recordings and up to about 30 minutes long.
  • Album – A longer release, usually with 7 or more recordings and 30 minutes or more.
