Remaster
Also known as: remastered version
A newly mastered version of a previously released recording, usually with improved sound.
A remaster is a new sound recording and therefore gets a new ISRC. Mark it in the version field of the title (for example “Remastered 2026”).
Not to be confused with
- Mastering – The final stage of audio post-production – the finished mix becomes the final file ready for release.
- Re-release – Releasing content that came out before – for example after switching distributors, as a remaster or a deluxe edition.
