Release date

Distribution and releasing in Czech Datum vydání

Also known as: live datestreet date

The day the release goes live on the platforms (usually at midnight local time).

Send a release to distribution at least 14 days, ideally a month before the release date – the platforms need time to process it and you need time for playlist pitching and promotion.

Not to be confused with the original release date (when the recording first came out) and the pre-order start date.

Not to be confused with

  • Original release date – The date the recordings were first released – filled in only for releases that came out earlier elsewhere.
  • Pre-orders – The option to buy or pre-add a release in a store (mainly iTunes) before the release date.
