Primary artist

Default primary artist

Every account on our platform is linked to one specific artist name.

That is your default primary artist – and it is under this name that your music is released.

What is the default primary artist?

The default primary artist is the artist name you entered when you registered on our platform. The system remembers it and automatically assigns it to each of your releases. It is your main artist identifier – the name under which listeners find you on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and other services.

It is filled in automatically

Do not enter the default primary artist manually anywhere. The system takes it directly from your registration name and fills it in by itself – in both the release form and the recording form you will see it as the greyed-out (Primary) artist field, which cannot be changed.

Careful – do not enter it twice!

If you added the default primary artist manually a second time, you would risk your name being displayed twice on streaming services, or a duplicate artist profile being created – or the release not getting into distribution at all (which is the most common outcome). That is exactly what we want to prevent.

Summary – how it works

When you register, you enter your artist name – it becomes your default primary artist

The system automatically assigns it to each of your releases – do not enter it manually anywhere

Listeners find you under this name on all streaming services

Want to release music under a different name?

Under one account, you release as one artist – for a new project, create a new account. The account's artist name can only be changed in exceptional cases (once free of charge before your first release, after that for a fee). Read Artist name: Why to decide on it in advance and when you can change it and 1 artist = 1 user account.
