IPI number

The international identification number of an author or publisher in the collecting societies' system.
The IPI is assigned by the collecting society (OSA in Czechia) when you sign up. It lets an author be matched unambiguously with works worldwide, even with a common name or a pseudonym.
Not to be confused with
- ISWC – The international code of a musical work (song). It is assigned by an authors' collecting society, such as OSA.
