Copyright (authors' rights)
Also known as: copyrightauthors' rights
An author's rights in their work – moral rights (authorship, integrity) and economic rights (the right to use the work and to permit its use).
Copyright arises automatically the moment a work is expressed in an objectively perceptible form – no registration is needed. In Czechia it is governed by the Copyright Act.
Not to be confused with related rights (of performers and record producers) or with the US concept of copyright, which has a different basis.
Not to be confused with
- Related rights – The rights of performers, producers of sound and audiovisual recordings and broadcasters – rights in the performance and the recording.
- Copyright (US concept) – The Anglo-American term for rights in a work. In distribution it mostly appears as the C-line (©) of a release.
